The Internet has completely changed how we live and interact. The form of literature has been changed and shaped as well. Join well-known literary scholar Professor Lee Jui Teng as he discusses how the Internet has unleased a literary revolution to redefine the meaning of writers, books and reading.

Professor Lee is one of judges in the Singapore Literature Prize 2018's Chinese Creative Nonfiction category.

简介 Speaker and Moderator's Bios


Lee Jui Teng is from Nantou, Taiwan and obtained his PhD from the Chinese Cultural University. He held the posts of chief editor of Wenhsun Magazine and Director of the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, and is currently the Dean of the Literature Department at the National Central University, as well as current Head of the Humanities Research Centre.


Yow Cheun Hoe is a poet writing in Chinese under the pen name You Yi Piao. His collection of poetry, Liuxian (Flowing Lines), published in 2016. His won First Prize of Huazong in Poetry (1995, 1997) and Second Prize of Golden Point Award in Poetry (2005). He currently teaches at Nanyang Technological University.


About the Singapore Literature Prize 2018

The Singapore Literature Prize (SLP) is organised by the Singapore Book Council (SBC) and is Singapore's top literary prize. Established in 1991, the awards aim to:

  • Promote Singapore literary talent through recognition of outstanding published works by Singapore authors in any of the four official languages: English, Chinese, Malay or Tamil;
  • Stimulate public interest and support for creative writing in Singapore.
This biennial competition is open to Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents whose works of fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction have been published in Singapore or abroad during specified period of time in any of Singapore's four official languages.
